XB-70 Valkyrie

One of the largest aircraft ever built, and certainly one of the largest bombers, the XB-70 Valkyrie was a by-product of the Cold War era, an era in which both the East and the West were paranoid about the other side attacking first, and an era in which no expense was spared nor questioned when it came to defense budgets.
The XB-70 Valkyrie emerged from that era, but unfortunately never entered active service.

Many of the research and data about this aircraft are still confidential, although the most important data and the majority of the statistics could be available on the Internet.

First flight: 1964

Mission

The Xb-70 is a long-range stategic bomber, capable of flying intercontinental missions without refueling, then penetrate the enemy defenses. It can perform a variety of missions, including that of a nuclear long range strategic bomber.
